A First Communion around Soccer. If possible!
It is very common that it costs us a little more to decorate a First Communion party for boys than one for girls. It is a little more difficult for us, since the vast majority of children of the age of making their First Communion are crazy about Football and we always have in mind a very colorful Football.
I suppose that if you are reading me and you are the mother of a child, you think the same. Sometimes mothers call us with the voice of... "What do we do to make the table look elegant and most importantly... sober and my son likes it!"
Some time ago we were asked to set up a Communion at the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona. We had to decorate a large imperial table in a room with very high ceilings and large windows that overlooked the garden with lots of light. Josep is a child, like many, a football fan and we set up a party around football but with a vintage touch. The result, an elegant and very original First Communion for a boy. I leave you the photos to see what you think.
A large table with a white tablecloth, chairs dressed in charcoal gray and a Natural Jute table runner that crossed the table from side to side, gave the party a warm touch. Due to the dimensions of this table, we had plenty of room to decorate it as we wanted. We decided to use pots of different sizes and heights with seasonal flowering plants. We decorate them with some personalized posters and some other details that remind us of the world of sports such as whistles, balls, golf clubs... These pots would serve both to decorate the table for adults, and to later give to each family invited.
The truth was a very decorative, economical and practical idea that we highly recommend. Practical, because nothing had to be picked up once the party was over and economical because the plant was in season, bought in a Gardencenter a few days before and the truth is... who doesn't like to take home a pot as a gift of daisies.
Each guest had their place at the table and was indicated with a personalized table marker and a Vintage Football themed menu item . The graphic design was made by Happy Party, with whom we were delighted to have their collaboration in this party. The synergy how very good :)
We set up a small table with a Candy Bar with the chosen theme. Josep asked us for fewer sweets and more nuts. A water dispenser was in the middle of the table for the thirstiest. The photo isn't the best... the dispenser wasn't full yet and there's some food missing on the table, but it sure helps you get an idea of how cute it turned out.
The Candy bar was also decorated with sports details, a grass base, canisters with tennis balls for candy, referee whistles hung everywhere with ribbons, and handmade labels with messages showing the contents of the canisters of the candy bar. table.
