The baptism of our Filippa in Santiago de Chile

I want to show you a very special baptism for me, the baptism of my niece Filippa. My little sister Karyn and her family had just moved home and her daughter Filippa's Christening was impossible to stage in her new house. The ceremony was going to be held one Sunday morning in a small chapel in Santiago de Chile and then we were going to eat at my parents' house, but at the last minute we decided to set up some impromptu drinks in the afternoon for the closest friends in the house just inaugurated.

There was very little time but with four well-placed things we were going to achieve an intimate and very sweet atmosphere for Filippa. The weather was with us, in Chile in the month of December it is the middle of summer, so the terrace was the perfect place.

A week before, I put some little details in my suitcase that could look good at Karyn's house. All the things we chose were very light and folded so they didn't bulk up at all... I was very excited to add a touch to the party.

My sister is a renowned designer in Latin America and has exquisite taste. His designs are very feminine, volatile and with very soft tones, so the colors could not be other.

I leave you some examples of very easy details to assemble with little time.

We hung 3 large groups of honeycomb balls, white paper lanterns, polka dot balloons, transparent balloons and Pom Poms in Beige, pale pink and white. The effect was great, it gave the place a festive but very elegant air.

We tied natural jute rope to some recovered glass bottles, filled them with water and placed flowers inside.

We hung these little bottles together with some garlands of tiny white lights that came on when the sun went down, illuminating a large wall in the garden. The effect was beautiful and very delicate, everyone loved it!

In a corner of the garden we set up a small sweet table or "Sweet Table" with typical Chilean cakes, (all with a lot of dulce de leche), lots of fruit, some marshmallow skewers and strawberries that the children loved. A very delicate detail were the wire hearts with small tassels that decorated the cakes. Both the plates and the napkins we used were white with little stars from the My Little Day collection. The little golden stars gave a modern touch to the celebration. There was no shortage of raw and white straws and cups with a dome for later drinks.

In every corner of the house there were flowers that gave a fresh touch to the summer afternoon.

Filippa exhausted in my sister's arms, after a long day about to go to sleep.

I show you the reminders that we guests received at the Baptism. They are printed on a home printer and die-cut with a lace die-cutter at the bottom and tied with a fabric ribbon on top.

Very simple but cute to have been made "Homemade" and with so little time....

I hope it gives you several ideas on how to decorate your Baptism.
